A family vacation built around us
Orlando is designed as a full destination experience, not a single banquet or picnic. The houses, activities and time together are all part of the weekend.
Connection first
We are creating room for cousins across generations to relax, laugh, eat, play and actually spend time together.
Family houses
Large vacation homes create a true shared experience with pools, games, gathering spaces and room for the family to settle in.
Thursday through Sunday
The weekend will include planned family activities plus downtime. A detailed itinerary will be added once the schedule is finalized.
Why We’re Doing This
At the Chicago reunion, a family member put words to something many of us have been feeling: it’s time to try something new. The Cousins Family Vacation was already taking shape, and that conversation confirmed that the time is right to bring it forward.
The Cousins Family Vacation takes the heart of a family reunion and gives it a fresh format: a destination, a full weekend and more time to actually enjoy one another.
Instead of trying to fit everything into a few hours, we’ll have time to eat, laugh, play, talk, relax and make memories together across the weekend.
We want younger cousins to know one another, build relationships of their own and create the kind of family memories they’ll want to continue.
Orlando gives us the chance to gather as a family while still enjoying a real vacation. There will be shared experiences, along with room for families to enjoy the destination in their own way.
The fee supports the full shared experience, including meals and refreshments, reunion T-shirt, welcome gift, activities and entertainment, family programming, event supplies, accessibility and family support, special experiences, and more.
VIEW THE $250 FLYERBuild your family payment plan
$250 per person covers the family-trip experience, including the shared housing structure. Choose the date you plan to make your family deposit, and the calculator will apply the correct deposit amount and spread the remaining balance across the time left before June 1, 2027.
The deposit is paid once per family and increases based on the date it is made.
What will my payments look like?
Calculator uses the $250-per-person trip price and the family deposit required on the date selected. If the scheduled deposit is greater than the remaining trip balance, only the amount still owed is applied. Cheddar Up processing fees are separate and are not included.
For planning purposes, this site currently reflects Cheddar Up’s Pro plan. Online payments may include a separate Cheddar Up convenience fee, paid by the payer.
Current Pro rates: credit/debit card: 3.59% + $0.59 per transaction; eCheck/checking account: 1.59% (minimum $1).
These fees are Cheddar Up charges. They are separate from the $250-per-person reunion cost and are not received by the F49A Board.
Family-trip participation + shared housing
The $250 per-person amount is the established family-trip price. Shared lodging is part of the event structure, so staying somewhere else does not reduce the per-person amount.
Travel is booked separately
Families are responsible for their own transportation to Orlando. The prior planning materials identified Pay Later Travel as an optional flight-payment resource.
Visit Pay Later TravelPayments are nonrefundable
The Board commits funds to lodging and shared trip expenses based on registrations, so submitted payments are treated as nonrefundable.
The houses are part of the experience
The planning concept is multiple large mansion-style vacation homes so the family has space to gather without spending the whole weekend scattered across a hotel.
Picture the experience, not the exact property. These images illustrate the style of Orlando-area mansion amenities we are targeting and are not necessarily the actual homes that will be booked.
Approximately four mansion properties
Some homes discussed can sleep roughly 60 guests and include the kinds of amenities that make the house itself part of the fun.
Pools, games, kitchens & gathering space
Final properties are not yet published, but the target is large communal spaces, private pools, game or arcade areas, multiple kitchens and plenty of room to hang out.
Yes, but the trip price stays the same
Staying in the family houses is strongly encouraged, but it is not mandatory. The $250/person fee does not decrease if you choose your own accommodations.
What will the weekend look like?
The detailed activity schedule is still being finalized. This is the structure so everyone knows what kind of trip they are signing up for.
Arrive + settle in
Travel, house check-in, reconnecting and an easy first night together.
Family fun
Planned activities, Orlando time and plenty of space to enjoy the houses.
Main gathering day
A fuller day of family programming and celebration. Final activities will be announced.
Wrap-up + departures
One more chance to connect before checkout, travel and heading home.
The itinerary above is intentionally high-level. Exact activities and times will be published after the Board finalizes the schedule.
Registration + payments
The first deposit deadline is October 15, 2026. To give families the weekend and Monday to take advantage of the launch rate, the $75 family deposit will be honored through Monday, October 19. Beginning October 20, the required minimum increases. All balances are due by June 1, 2027.
You can register your family now even if you are not ready to pay yet. Registration keeps your household on our list for important Cousins Family Vacation updates. The payment calculator does not register your household, so use the family registration form to submit names, ages, contact information and household details.
October 15 remains the first published deposit date. We are extending the $75 amount through the weekend and Monday so families have a few extra days to take advantage of the initial rate.
Choose adults + children
Each family registration may include a maximum of two adults age 18 and over, plus children under age 18. Any additional adult must register separately.
Enter everyone correctly
Adults are counted as age 18 and over. Children are under age 18. Names and ages should match the people included in the family registration.
Make the required family deposit
The first deposit date is October 15. The $75 family rate is being honored through Monday, October 19. Beginning October 20, the required minimum increases to $150 per family.
Finish by June 1
Use the calculator above to estimate the monthly payment needed to have the family balance paid in full by June 1, 2027.
Cheddar Up Pro convenience fees are separate: credit/debit card 3.59% + $0.59 per transaction; eCheck 1.59% (minimum $1). These fees are paid to Cheddar Up and are not received by the F49A Board.
We are not experts, and we do not want to guess. Your input will help us plan the Cousins Family Vacation with the whole family in mind.
Parents and caregivers know their family members best, and our family also includes educators, caregivers and professionals with valuable experience. We want to hear from both.
Parents & Caregivers
Share what helps your child or family member feel comfortable, included and able to enjoy a big family weekend. That may involve sensory needs, quiet space, communication, food considerations, mobility, transitions, breaks or something we have not thought of.
Educators & Experienced Family Members
If you have experience in education, autism support, speech and language, occupational therapy, behavioral support, healthcare, childcare, accessibility or related areas, tell us what you know and whether you would be willing to serve as a planning resource.
What Your Input Can Help Us Plan
Responses will help F49A decide what is actually useful, such as a quiet or sensory-friendly space, noise-reducing headphones, fidgets or quiet activities, visual schedules, advance notice of loud or crowded activities, communication considerations, food planning, physical accessibility and room to step away when needed.
The questionnaire only takes a few minutes. Share only what you are comfortable sharing. We are not asking for medical records or proof of diagnosis.
Open or share the flyer for the quick version of the initiative.

Frequently asked questions
These are the things family members are most likely to need before they register.
Is this the traditional family reunion?
The Cousins Family Vacation is not being presented as a declaration that the traditional family reunion is over. Whether the family ultimately continues traditional reunions, alternates formats or does something else in future years is a decision for the family.
What we are doing in Orlando is introducing another way to approach our largest family gathering: more time together, a destination families can enjoy, shared houses that encourage connection and a weekend designed with different ages, needs and ways of participating in mind.
The goal is not to divide the family into “old” and “new.” It is to create another meaningful option for bringing everybody together and see what the family thinks after experiencing it.
WHY WE’RE DOING THISWhat are the exact dates?
The Cousins Family Vacation will be in July 2027 and will run Thursday through Sunday. We are still selecting the final July dates and will post them prominently as soon as they are confirmed.
How much is the trip?
The established Cousins Family Vacation price is $250 per person, including children. Your family's total is based on the number of people attending.

No. The $250 fee is required for every attendee and is not reduced or waived if you arrange your own lodging. The fee supports much more than a place to sleep, including meals and refreshments, the trip shirt, welcome gift, activities and entertainment, family programming, supplies, accessibility and family support, special experiences and the overall shared weekend.

Registration gets your family onto the official list so you receive important updates as dates, housing, activities, deadlines and other trip details are released.
